It’s been a while since I have done any Nail Polish reviews on the blog, so today I have one for you!
This is what Models Own say about their Velvet Goth range
”Five intensely inky pigmented colours each with an extraordinary 2D finish. Matte yet sparkly at the same time, each shade applies glossy and dries down giving a multi-faceted effect that can be seen but not felt!”
There are 5 polishes in the range, Obsidian, a matte sparkly black, Valerian a lovely navy blue, Amyethyst a gorgeous purple, Sardonyx a lush red and Absinthe which is the most amazing green.
I really love the way these polishes dry, it’s such a different effect and very eyecatching. I found the polish a bit difficult to work with as it was quite thick, but this also means that you get pretty good coverage from the start and the polish was opaque in 2 coats.
I always find Models Own polishes wear so well when they are on my nails, and this polish wasn’t any different. The day after I painted my nails I decided to put a top coat on top of the polish which of course made the polish shiny, and brought out the colour of the polish even more! Sorry about the blurry picture!
I also bought Valerian from the collection and I fully intend to buy Sardonyx and Amethyst too. I like that you can wear these polishes matte or really shiny by putting a top coat over them.
I will be wearing these polishes loads as the winter heads our way, and they will be great for Christmas too!
Models Own polishes are on Buy 1 get 1 Half Price at the moment in Boots! So grab them while they are even more of a bargain than usual!
Have you tried these new Models Own polishes yet?
Let me know what you think of Absinthe!
Lots of Love Kaye xx
